Home and Community Based Waiver
Information System (COMPASS)
COMPASS, the successor to MI Choice Information System
(MICIS)
supports the HCBS waiver by gathering assessment
information, care plan and service plans, and vendor
bills. Medicaid
claims are also processed.
The system provides both standard and ad-hoc
reports, including all reports based on the MDS-HC
algorithms (Quality Indicators, CAPS and Triggers, and
RUG III HC reports).
Vendor View
Vendor
View is a HIPAA-secure web portal that shares
important information about participants and services
with service providers.
Vendor View automates service authorizations and
eliminates the need to fax or mail these documents.
Service providers log in to get notices of new or
changed services, changed care settings (e.g. person is
hospitalized) and other information, and can run reports
when they wish.
PICK for Quality Assurance
Reviews (PICQAR)
PICQAR (PICK for Quality Assurance
Reviews) was created in conjunction with the University
of Michigan Center for Frail and Vulnerable Elderly,
which contracts with the Michigan Department of
Community Health to provide quality assurance reviews
for the Home and Community Based Elderly and Disabled
Waiver. The
portable quality assurance software groups a series of
standards into categories, and allows reviewers to mark
each standard as not evident, or partially or completely
evident. In
addition, depending on the response, the software
displays review guide material and draft comments to
assist in the review.
Arkansas MDS-HC collection and
analysis

Kit (PICK) to collect MDS-HC assessments and a
custom web-based portal to distribute reports.

Designed and developed custom
software to support innovative ADRC protocols in two
pilot counties. Software included office-based product
for I&A, screening, and supervision functions, plus a
companion mobile product to support collection of
assessments in consumer homes. A separate web-based
reports portal delivered pre-programmed outputs to users
at both county and state levels.
University of Michigan Home Help
Profile Project
Designed and developed customized
mobile software and data collection forms to support
research study of service recipients in Michigan's Home
Help program. Responsibilities included data storage and
export of data to research team for analysis.
DYNS
Services – POSM Quality of Life Assessment Project
As sub-contractor on engagement for
State of Michigan by long term care consulting firm DYNS
Services, Inc., developed and processed scannable form
for innovative Quality of Life Assessment collected from
both HCBS waiver and nursing home residents, as part the
Participant Outcome Satisfaction Measures (POSM)
project, a statewide Quality Improvement Initiative.
New Hampshire ADRC Project
and Bailit Associates
CIM was hired by Bailit Associates
to review the existing data collection processes,
develop data specifications and data elements required
for the new state ADRC project, and develop a new
business process for the pilot projects.
In addition, CIM drafted the request for
proposal, led the proposal review process, developed an
assessment of each software vendor, and consulted on the
final decision for software vendor. The
selected software was successfully installed, and is now
in use statewide in support of the ServiceLink project.
